We spent a very fast paced 3 days with our grandsons. We took them for the day on Sunday and anyone that has ever kept 3 little boys, 8, 7 and 6, know that is a tiring:)

We took them back to the camper for lunch and over to see the light house on St. Marks. There is a little hiking trail that the boys enjoyed. Overall a great visit. Also our oldest just got a house and we helped by keeping the boys away so they could paint the day away.

A fort that had stood here in various forms since before the civil war in the 1860s. This fort was held by the Union for the entirety of the war. The confederates did shell the fort from the opposite bank but to very little effect. They just left them there.
I looked around the fort for a while. Climbed on it's earthen works and then moved ...

... and decide to stop for the night in Perry. We didn't see much of it, but decided to stay in a best western which looked nice, the hotel attendant was very nice, Piper, we checked in and were pleasantly surprised when she discounted the rate by 50% and then proceeded to upgrade us to a suite. Very kind southern hospitality ... Room was nice, big and gave us a little space also. We set off around 9:00am Monday for Nth Carolina to see wades ...
