    ... so we just stayed on the coach and fixed lunch. By the time we'd finished eating the rain had stopped so Jim took over and on we went to Buckeye Lake.

    We got set up in our campsite then went to eat dinner. Jim found a local diner called "Clay's Cafe" in Hebron, OH. You can see pictures attached. It was quaint with stools at the counter that reminded us of our growing up ...

    ... right next to the interstate. When we have long driving days I have tried to look for interesting stops just a short distance off the highway.

    Once on I-70 we crossed the Ohio River moving into our fourth state of the day. With the early start we got through Columbus with a minimum of traffic as we were ahead of rush hour.

    We are now parked in the RV Park in Galloway, Ohio. Tomorrow we will continue our trek west hopefully making it to western ...

    2 months ago I was on my way to LA, feeling lucky that I would have 2 months on Anna Maria again next winter. Now I am excited to say that we have purchased a little 2 bedroom condo in The Inlets, closing in August. I will have my "bike ride to the beach" winter home after all.     ... and on paved roads more/less around civilization, 6 liters of extra water on the bike was probably too much. 3 or 4 L would be a better amount.

  • Same with having 4 mountain house meals on the bike. 2 would have been a better number. This kind of stuff is easy to resupply.
  • For the amount of cooking that I did, the smaller 600mL fuel bottle would have been good for the stove.
