Had a perfect travel day yesterday. Actually got away early, 8:45, and had beautiful cold clear weather all day. It was only once we got close to Portland that we saw any snow at all and there it was only deep in the bush. But shortly after we stopped for the night the snow started. It looks like we got about 3" overnight. Luckily we're heading south! Had great Chinese food last night. Who knew we'd find it in Maine! Here's what morning looked like - winter ...

It was just this lovely day driving around the gorgeous countryside and then returning to Portland..... where we had tea on a restaurant inside ...

... wasn't in a cupboard!! ********* A common thing we hear when ordering meals is 'What would you like for your starch?' Specifically.... would you like fries / potato etc. we all need our starch! *************** Road trip things.... We saw a 'watch for moose' sign! This highway speed was r75 mph .... with a minimum speed of 45mph!! Never seen a minimum speed before! Largest signs we saw were NOT the signs to exit the freeway.... but exits to buy lottery ...

... an affordable rental in P-Town, a friend suggested trying Truro or Wellfleet (thanks, Daniel!) Wellfleet is a beautiful little town on a small bay. It's quaint and quiet at this time of year and, after visiting P-Town later in the day I realized that Wellfleet was the perfect choice.

Provincetown is...well, it's P-Town. It's fun, it's kitschy, it's touristy and it exuberantly flies the Rainbow Flag at every ...
