Mitch and I left for Crooked Creek Parking parking lot, Yellowwood State Forest, after work to drop my car off at the end of the trail, well 2 miles shy of the end. We got to Morgan-Monroe State Forest around 8:00 PM and setup camp at the campground. We were the only campers that night and was fortunately the only night we had rain.
We got up at 7:15 AM today but got started around 8:30 AM. Today was the last day of our hike so our packs felt lighter and we didn't fill up our water bladders. We had figured, from the map, the car was 9 miles away and that we could drop pack at the car before finishing the last 4 miles.
