      ... than a magnetic strip; we hope the US credit card companies soon adopt this safer system.

      Canadians love to mow their lawns; even those with more than an acre of land use their riding mowers to keep the grass looking beautiful. It rains enough here that sprinklers aren't necessary to keep the lawns looking green and lush. We found almost all communities to be neat, clean and organized, showing pride of home ownership.

      ... good to be home.Summary:

      7/23-8/9 (18 days)
      7,593 total miles
      20 different states
      24 total states (we rode thru Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and of course Pa. twice - when we went out and when we came back)
      Averaged about 9 1/2-11 hours a day in saddle (except 1 day in San Francisco)
      2 tender butts, red faces and tired bodies.
      One VERY dirty bike
      A mountain of laundry
      Too many bills to count

      ... on the side. It was very tasty.

      On the way back from the restaurant, I stopped to gas up my bike. Then I decided I should check and fill my tires before returning to the motel. It feels good to get to the room prepared to ride first thing in the morning.

      The final treat for the day is to finally have wifi connection tonight for the first time in 3 ...

      ... we made it to the trailhead.) Along the way we passed the large family that is thru-hiking, they have about 10 people total in their group :). We also passed the boy scout group, they only have 6 miles to hike tomorrow, congratulations to all of them, they had fun, and are looking forward to another hike soon - possibly the Grand Canyon Of P.A.! We made camp early, pumped water and then sat and chatted with everyone. Is good having a group around again! Oh yea, ...

      ... a chock shake that I drank half of. Steve had Deluxe hamburger with onion rigs and fried eggplant Great meal $65 for 5.

      The GPS took us on all back roads coming home and then into a loop around Hass rd, Windsor Castle rd and some other road hence the title of this blog - we needed to reset it and pretend were going to DC until we got onto a numbered route Gabrielle was familiar with.
