... centre for their walking tour - really interesting tour. The guide was hilarious and gave a really good history of the Rockefeller's and their philanthropy. The Rockefeller Centre comprises 22 buildings worth billions of dollars, all in Art Deco style and to a grand plan, which included the open Plaza, building setbacks as they rose higher, off set buildings to allow light, wind and air through open spaces. ... The rest of the park was pretty, including the friends fountain, strawberry fields memorial type area outside john lennon's apartment, and Belvedere castle. After the park we legged it to the TKTS stand in Times Square to get some tickets for the night. We got there just after 2 and the line was snaked allllll the way back around the booth. We walked to the subway, then got on 2 trains to finally arrive at Coney Island. It was full of the big dippers and Ferris wheel, and other thrilling rollercoaster rides that I expected, and the hot dog stands and icecreams and pizzas etc. We had a hot dog at Nathan's which is a very famous hot dog stand - but a huge one, which also serves hamburgers and chips and beer and other things. The beach ...

... we had a driver swap and Don paddled the next half hour. Sharlie and I were happy to sit back, chat and enjoy the sunny weather. The park really is a beautiful place. As we walked back to the city we passed by the fountain that features in the opening scene of FRIENDS. It was a tad smaller then we anticipated but cool to see none the less. Our next planned destination was Grand central station! But on the way there we happened across the pub names ...
