      ... games someone sure is losing out on missed revenue....Tom said that for the 15 home games per year the town couldn't afford to add further seating and that the triple A teams only bring in 500 people per game...So although it's a nice stadium..it is one of the smaller ones.
      March 23....picked up our friends Rachelle and Dave from the airport in Tampa...making plans for the week with them. ...

      Our destination Monday was to travel into Tampa Bay for an evening hockey game. Left our apt. By 2pm and found ourselves in the heart of downtown very quickly so made a quick decision to hike over to the TB History center . It was wonderfully informative on the history and settling of the city and the surrounding area. The Indians were here when the first invasions from the Spanish occurred in the 1500 s and still much later ...

      Monday 16/3 - After fueling up we headed off to Tampa or more specifically Tarpon Springs which is a small Greek fishing village about 20 miles north of Tampa. It was recommended to us by some people we met on the cruise. Our GPS said it would be a 1 hr 45 min drive but it ended up taking us 2 1/2 hours due to traffic leaving Orlando and then around Tampa. The amount of traffic congestion is just amazing considering the roads are 3 and 4 lanes wide in one direction ...

      ... the water, making it a perfect place for manatee. TECO established The Manatee Viewing Center as an educational facility and a state and federal designated manatee sanctuary. During the height of manatee season, there can be as many as 600 manatees at one time in the channel.


      Today, we see only 4 manatees, 2 of them are small and we think are very young. These massive animals ...
