... it). There was plenty of time to mooch around at the airport, so we walked from one end to the other, stopping at the Coronna beach bar for a drink. After a little bit more of a wander we got coffees & cookies and sat in our departure lounge, people watching. Unfortunately our flight was delayed, due to the incoming plane we would have got on, had a technical fault and deemed not suitable for flight. Thankfully we had a newer plane available, ...

Back on the Turnpike, we continued home. Pretty soon, we were crossing into Missouri (hooray!) and found an Applebee’s for lunch. Nice friendly town, that Joplin. They seem to be mostly rebuilt from the tornado. The Mercy hospital is nearly finished. Good for Joplin and its people.

... something for him to eat, I think because its Monday most of the eateries
are closed. Anyway he finds a bar and
buys some sweet potato fries (never had them before) he reckons that sweet
potato is one of the healthiest things you can eat – until I point out that
they are deep fried, I tried one, not much to write home about and all it
tasted of was hot fat eewwww.
