The rains pushed us into Marshfield late in the day. We escaped for a brief time at Olanna's cafe in Springfield. We had a second breakfast that carried us down the road. Today we rode off into the rolling hills of Missouri and encountered our first road grade greater than 10%. We expect to see a lot more of this in the coming days. Once again the weather gods smiled on us, the wind was minimal, there was no rain and a bit of cloud cover did not spoil our day. We enjoyed the rural ride through small, well kept farms and had a dinner repast at a local truck stop adjoining our hotel....ah the luxuries of the itinerant ...
... I'm just saying I got one) Most alarmingly of all is that we have not worn matching Route 66 shirts Yet! (As true Nistas, We all created custom shirts for the group. Its what Nistas do... its who they are shirt making, food eating, forgetting machines.

... criminals/ traveling families at our gas stop. Our Credit card was missing!!! It was not in anyones pockets, wallet or even in the red machine. We figured it out, there was a master criminal who was able to steal our card as I handed it to dad and he put it in his wallet. (neither of us could remember if I handed him his credit card or if he put it in his wallet...) Thats when we knew we needed back up.
... The DX Packard Museum in the last two days. Hoe their doggies, thats a lot of seeing for a couple fellas to do in two days, you might (or might not) say. Do not try this at your home! We ( and our arteries) are hardend Travelers. Four museums, 500 miles, and countless Cheeseburgers, for us, No problem. ( as I grab my left arm)
