The realities of homecoming!
... any gifts for the kids yet so a shopping expedition is getting higher and higher on the list.
And so it goes. But please don't read this entry as a complaint. We are so lucky to have our wonderful, comfortable home here. Yes, it demands upkeep and when we leave for an extended period of time is shouldn't come as a surprise to us that things need attention.
We are looking forward to the fast approaching holidays, but now need to take care of business!

... of people don't have a very good pension (apparently state pensions don't really exist- at least not like they do in the UK-where most people can live off it). Birthday bliss
... around the shops and stopped for a coffee and to open my birthday cards. It's so warm, it really doesn't feel like my birthday -apparently its snowing at home-Luton airport has had to close! Was lovely to open some cards. My best friend jess (who gave me a card in aug-that's ridiculous planning!) always puts confetti in her cards-but for some reason, I forgot this. Home for the Holidays!
... to find some handwritten notes from Tina who looked after the house for us, as well as our Swedish friends Christer and Pillan and our English friends Paul and Maggie who visited while we were away. There were even a few packages that Deb brought in from the doorstep for us!
