      ... in 2006. It is a beautiful building with incredible views of the Columbia River Gorge. There are five Cascade Mountains visible from the top, including Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. We leave here tomorrow and drive just a few miles to another park, where we will stay until the 5th of July. As much as we love where we are staying, they are kicking us out as they are booked over the holiday. We'll close for now, so we can go enjoy the sound of the rain. ...

      ... had a half beer to take with us on our quest to fill in the McMenamin's passport by taking photos of interesting artwork and finding clues to answer questions, etc to gain a 'stamp'.       ... we were in the Pearl District - lots of good shopping, food and beer here. We lunched at Lovejoy Bakers. Mmm. Simple but tasty avocado, turkey and bacon sandwiches. From there we walked and walked and wore out our shoes and so all of us had to buy new ones at the Keen store. Great selection and prices. Following lunch we took a trip to the Filson Outdoorfitters store. Old school woodsman and hunting gear with modern cuts and fittings. I bought ...

What these books do is combine the classic texts of short stories (Edgar Allan Poe, Virginia Wolff, Jack London, etc) and combine them with illustrations from artists. The books are small...pocket sized and cost $4. I really liked the idea!
