... tossed off an innertube at 30 mph, drinking and fishing. After some quality-time hanging out and catching up with the soon-to-be newlyweds (with a soon-to-be bedtime of 9pm) it was time to go. Next up - a visit with another buddy of mine on the west coast of Florida, who also just got engaged. They must have both been drinking that "special kool-aid"...

Fort Pierce has one of the most unexpected coastlines on the Treasure Coast in South Florida. From the high-rise skyline to the beaches with turquoise waters to great places to stay and eat. plus well kept state parks, an exciting sea-side city center. Fort Pierce is a must see. One of our personal favorite ...
Fort Pierce, Florida, United States idmartel... bright light off starboard. I asked Dave, "What is that"? - Didn't look like any boat I'd ever seen. He looked at it and then we realized it was going up.....it was a rocket that had been launched from Cape Canaveral. It was cool to see its booster rockets fall back and it disappeared over the ocean.
Around 3AM Dave asked me to check radar to port as it appeared to be another boat. At that time it was 4 miles off and looked like it was going to ...
... nights to get there. Once on the road, Andy and I were happy and just kept on trucking. We decided to stay at the "Flying J" Truck Stop Plaza in Fort Pierce. I checked the trusty GPS and found a State Park nearby where we could gain access to the beach! On our way to the beach we went by a County Park called "Pepper Park". It looked uncomplicated, free and RV friendly. We pulled in, walked over the boardwalk to a fantastic beach!! All ...
Fort Pierce, Florida, United States jodieandandy... part of it. Anyway, this is an area in the mid-Pacific ocean, thousands of miles from land, where the winds and currents create a giant eddy of sorts. Things, like plastic ****, that float can get caught up in this gyre and just kind of swirl around for eternity. A guy who was sailing from Hawaii to California stumbled upon the gyre and describes mile and mile after mile of the water full of floating plastic stuff. Apparently a lot of it comes from cargo containers ...
Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States ajvermont... all ages, ethnicities, orientations, etc. I really am surprised how much I liked Savannah. So keep checking back on the previous posts as I try to get the pictures that go with each post uploaded. As far as I can tell it is STILL snowing in Corinth so I have no hopes that we'll find anything approaching spring when we get back. Maybe Jack and Susi will be boiling (making maple syrup for the uninitiated). later gator.
Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States ajvermont... and my plans for the year, at this time I realised he was getting free drinks from the barkeep, a north Londoner called Jenny, who was dressed up in a red cowgirl outfit. After a while he invited me to have a drink with him ... gratis, and so it went on. At around 2 in the morning ( I think ) the bar owner turned up, a tall South American looking guy with slicked back hair and expensive clothes, gold watch and huge cigar, I was introduced and coincidentally had the ...
Miami, Florida, United States articleukThis entry will cover the time I spent in Jensen Beach before I left to head back north on december 21st. December was the nicest month when I lived in Cocoa Beach for the winter, not too hot and the water was a nice temperature, before the winter storms. Just like california, the weather in florida is not always warm and sunny. In fact the winter I stayed it did snow ...
Jensen Beach, Florida, United States greenvanartusa... the next morning. In the middle of the night a cop came in and made me buy a tickect and told me to get out of town in the morning when the bus came through. The next experience was the next spring when I had friends going up there for spring break and I went along. I had a friend that had a major diasability and couldn't carry anything, but he was of age and did drink beer and he also had a legal ...
