7-7-07 Wedding bells in lots of cities! My son and fabulous daughter-in-law got married in this gorgeous city, it is well worth a trip. She is a native and we were treated like royalty. Although, after getting married it took a looooong time for her to get her visa to come to L.A.. But now she is here. Don't miss the lighting of Parliament at night - what a show!

I think I will buy another 8GB card.. I ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada hisgirl... was delayed by one hour. No problemo! With my laptop, I was able to connect to the Internet, free of charge (youppi!), and send an email to Justin who, lucky me, responded right away. I told him about the flight being delayed by one hour and to pick us up later tonight. Its amazing,,,so far away, but yet, so close! That's what technology does for you.

At the Toronto's airport ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada momentsintime... star attraction. It was designed by architect Mary Colter (she also designed the El Tovar at the Grand Canyon) in the early 1900s, for the railway and stands right by it. It is not expensive at all, has an excellent restaurant, is full of antics and art, has nice gardens and you can sit in the easy chair outside to see the trains go by, on the famous Santa Fe line. Trains come every 10 minutes or so. Each is pulled by four thundering diesel engines. They are ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada littke... onto the mainland. Throughout some of the journey we traveled along the 'Trans Canada Highway', the longest highway in the US and Canada, beginning in Saint Johns, Newfoundland and ending in Vancouver on the west! A note about the highways, we complain in England, but the highways in Quebec are quite rough, we learnt from the various guides that there is so much snow and ice each year that huge volumes of salt are required to tackle the problem, subsequently the salt ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada whernsideIt is almost time for my departure. I am so excited to go, but also a little scared. Living a rural area it will be a big change to be in such a big city. The grand city of Prague. Of course I will have my wonderful grandparents with me but a ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada stacie_kerr... it was not a sight I wanted to see as I was about to throw myself in the ring very shortly. One of the interesting things about the Chasepoint is that we would get to play alongside a Goalball Para-Olympic athlete. He would be positioned in the center position on our side in front of the goal and Ron and I would flank him as we placed ourselves on either side of him. The Para-Olympic athlete was not allowed to throw the ball until the referee would call out saying that ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada matsamuel... first birthday so were very glad to be part of this celebration. She is talking so much more every day and very clear now. She's so cute! May 27 2008. We've had a very busy last few days. On Thursday we attended the Long Service Awards for the Ottawa Hospital where I was honoured along with 36 others for 35 years of service at TOH. I chose a new set of Swiss luggage as my gift from TOH. Most appropriate gift for me! We look forward to packing up and travelling again ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada cankiwiWhat to say about Sousse? Well, it,s the stop on our trip where I got a nasty case of Tunisia leaky bum from what we think was an omelette. I was out of the game for most of yesterday. Today we took a louage to El Jem to see the collesium. It is most impressive. We got up early and were on the road by about 7am to beat the hordes of package tourists but all the ...
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada msprague... to find a pile of mangled wooden body parts beneath the mound of paper left in the box I continued to forge ahead. Buried, tangled and tattered, there was Don, the trooper that he was, body intact, with minor flesh wounds ( yay ).

With an expression on his face which seemed to say "What the hell were you thinking... they said NO FRAGILE!" Don had survived the flight home with only a broken shield and helmet.

A little white ...
