Packed our stuff and it was off again. This time to Montgomery. Stopped at Race Trac convenience store. Like our QT. Angie bought 2 large cans of boiled Cajun Peanuts to bring home.

Started getting some rain going north on I-75 around Gainesville. Went north into Alabama on state route 231. Went through Dotham, Ozark, and Troy. Very beautiful country.

Got into Montgomery about 7 p.m. It was cold and windy.

On a curved black granite wall behind the table is engraved Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s well-known paraphrase of Amos 5:24 - "We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream".

Alongside Mississippi, Alabama occupies a unique place in
American historical geography as the deepest of the Deep South where in the
1950s and 1960s Jim Crow laws were the harshest and equal rights for black
people most violently opposed. Even in the 2000s Alabama and Mississippi still
pass some of the most primitive laws and elect some of the country’s most Neanderthal
      politicians.
