    Got here without any trouble and even got some good advice from our seat mate who gave us some tips to fight jet lag. She's been to Oz a bunch of times and sez the great ocean road is spectacular. This airport is huge!! We've got a couple hours to kill in Dallas before we head out to Sydney. Not looking forward to the 16hrs in a little seat. Hopefully our seat assignments will be fixed and I can relax on the aisle. Missing my family already. Thanks ...

    ... different plans -- the drive thursday was uneventful and we did manage to spend one night in lexington, kentucky; friday was a different story. the weather was nightmarish -- blinding rain pretty much the entire day (of the variety where one can barely see dividing lines on the roadways, as well as other vehicles) so of course we were forced to reduce our speed and we realized we were not gonna make it to gettysburg in time.
