... After a short detour to the Ahwanee Hotel, we were back and headed out of the Valley on I-120, via a final photo opportunity in front of El Capitan.

The journey out of Yosemite took us through a large area of burnt forest. This had actually been done deliberately and in controlled conditions. The Ranger has told us previously that some of the tress can not germinate without fire and the forest also becomes too dense to thrive without ...

We got our bicycles and helmets and set off to cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge. Until today, I had not been on a bicycle in many years. I'm not sure San Francisco was really the best place to reacquaint ...

... still walked, in our coats, to Union Square for a nice lunch before spending the afternoon in our hotel room. Today was the complete opposite. Waking up early to get to Union Square at 9am, we decided to take a 'Go-Car Tour' to the Golden Gate Bridge. Riding on the opposite side of the road, with cars twice the size of us passing by, was an interesting experience especially when the bike's top speed was 30 mph but significantly less up hills causing cars to line up behind ...
