      ... Maricopa and Tucson then New Mexico with stops at Lordsburg and Deming. At 1500 the US-Mexico border fence came into view and we were asked not to take photographs of the numerous armed border police vehicles tucked into various nooks and crannies of the hills next to the track. The Rio Grande river was crossed at 1515 and we pulled into El Paso, Texas. We were not to leave this huge state until1530 the following day!

      I woke up in the morning to work with other illegals picking tomatoes. On the way there we passed by the Franklin mountains state park, the El Paso museum of art, and the Hueco Tanks State Historic Site. They teach me how to pick the tomatoes, and not to rub my eyes, but midway through the Immigration police show up and arrest many of the workers. I hide behind a few boxes. I am left with a man named Enrique and we make our way to Tucson, ...

      The drive from Austin to El Paso like- a lot of our routes was a little longer than anticipated. We came down from Austin to route 10 via 281 which was a two lane road with a 70 mile an hor speed limit There was some interesting things that we didn't have time to stop for:
