Thanks again to Global Entry, we did not have to wait in line at immigration and ended up cooling our heals waiting for our baggage to start coming out. With Murphy nowhere in sight, our bags were among the first out and we headed straight to Customs. I'd noted that I had alcohol to declare, as you're only ...

We both had holiday-shortened days on Thursday the 2nd, and K was working from home, which worked out well. I had ordered a taxi the night before to take us to the airport, and we were all set and ready at the appointed time, but no taxi. I finally called and they admitted to having lost the reservation. They dispatched another car but I was worried about crowds at ...

So I've actually commenced my trip.
I'm sitting in the USO at Dulles; because the Virgin Atlantic check-in desk doesn't open for three hours. But at least I still have my military ID, so it's cool to get a "quiet" place to hang out. There is a large group of catholic priests taking wounded warriors to Lourdes so the USO is very crowded and busy...but there are outlets and free food, not too bad right?
