Safe and quiet in Chesapeake City

The anchorage in Chesapeake City is not a big one, but it is well protected. We got there with only two boats ahead of us. I saw what looked like the city wall with one sailboat on it, but I had read that you can no longer tie up there. We moved to the back of the anchorage and dropped anchor in a corner. We were soon joined by two Quebec boats about our size. They had come from Cohansy Cove as well, but they had been smart and gone up the river. They said it was still not ideal ...

We decided instead to go to Cohansy Cove and sneak around the little island to be protected from fetch and waves from the tankers. The Delaware is huge however, and it took us a out 45 minutes to get to the cove. The waves were not bad and the wind was only supposed to get milder, and we were getting very tired. We decide not to take the longer hike up the river to more ...

          Day 9

Morning walk at the High Line. Park walkway converted from a disused railway track.

Drove south. Stopped for lunch at Mt Laurel.

Then south again to Chesapeake City but couldn't find a room there.

Found an inn at Georgetown called the Kitty Knight Inn. It is supposedly haunted by a good ghost called Knitty Knight. She saved the house and a neighbours house from being burnt down by the British raiders.
