... get to: Spitsbergen, the Amazon, the Galapagos and Africa. So I headed to the Amazon and made plans for Spitsbergen and Africa.

I think it was when I was in Columbia that I started having feelings of wanting to stay in one place a while but by then I had made travel plans for Iceland and Spitsbergen so I pretty much bucked up and kept going, I was noticing that beautiful scenery, interesting archeology ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States margreet98... doing some catching up on national news events and napping. Later in the evening KM and JG stopped by the hotel bar for a catch up session. It was great to hear from two people I hadn't seen in a long time, and since everyone seems to be in a transition stage right now there's always a lot to say. I also put in a little plug for SASS with JG who is a sick skier and better get himself down to Argentina next summer! All in all ...

Denver, Colorado, United States aggiekatie... streaming, by the way, is a great way to end up wasting time that was never intended to be wasted. For dinner we checked out Jax, a local seafood restaurant. Turns out one of the exec chefs just won Top Chef. Exciting, and regardless of recent, popular accolades the food was delicious enough to stand on its own without a TC title.

Basically Boulder is awesome and I can easily see how people come out here and never leave! Two more days til we hit the road again.
The opera was Tales of Hoffman (I'd never heard of it) and the production was quite enjoyable. The costumes were fabulous! This photo appeared in a review in the Denver Post and described Olympia's robot costume as weighing 75 pounds! Her performance was incredible.

This picture explains why I'm heading south!

Lakewood, Colorado, United States amyhodder... He and Anthony, the owner, have been busy remodeling the place from scratch and expanding it with the addition of a yoga studio. We are going with the flow of everyday life. Going hiking in Boulder on sunny days, dogsitting cute Mia, Mathu and Naomi's dog, having coffee at our favs (Pablos and Avianos), grabbing a drink with friends, going to live shows (hello Nuno!)... enjoying every bite.
Denver, Colorado, United States blacksheepSpent the whole week travelling through amazing scenery as we worked our way back down through Montana, getting lost on a regular basis which was great....! taking every scenic byway we could find....saw deer, antelope, a dozen golden eagles, Cranes & Curlews, and a skunk. Denver, Colorado, United States mills01480... thought I'd only experience that through pictures. oh vey. I was getting my nails done the other day, and I asked the woman, who was from Vietnam, how she thought of the little bit of Mandarian I knew. She knew enough to be able to critique me. I said the few phrases I knew, and she laughed!! :) I thought, oh no. I am screwed! I can't try my words out in China, I'll just embarrass myself! But she reassured me that it was good enough ...
