      ... many positive comments - my intention was never to 'blaw' about the trip but I wanted to record honestly how it went as a wee family keepsake and I recall vividly how much I enjoyed Kirstine's blogs when she back-packed round the world and how I almost felt I was there with her when I read her excellent depictions - I have tried to describe our wee trip in similar terms and I'm chuffed to hear that some folks have taken them that way too. ...

      As we drove back we passed a couple of fruit stands. One of them had a sign saying Colorado peaches were in. So, we dropped Grandpa and the girls off at my sister's, picked up my other sister and headed to the market to get peaches. We were a bit surprised 15 peaches and a few nectarines cost $28!

      ... were familiar with) and stopped there to eat. It was close to 9:00 - much later than any of us ever eat but we made do and had a great dinner. The restaurant was a 50's style diner and we really enjoyed it.

      ... decided to stay downtown. I'd never been down there and wanted to see that iconic neon cowboy sign. I pulled up the the gaudiest, most quintessential Vegas hotel I could - The Golden Nugget won. Upgraded myself from the $65/night room to the $102/night room in the new tower. Downtown is cheap.

      ... park blocks away. We unpack (I repack) and have a rest before we’re back in the car for a short drive to Denver CBD. Betsy is going to get a facial while I explore 16th Street Mall. In the original plan I was to also get a massage, but I cancelled that after changing my travel plans.
