    ... Miami River. One building tells the story of the Wright Brothers and showcases their original 1905 Wright Flyer III, the world’s first practical airplane. Other buildings exhibit facets of Dayton history, including the great flood of 1913. In the entrance building, there is an NCR cash register room with 90 such Dayton-made machines on show, many of them quite ornate and brightly polished. A very fascinating afternoon.

    ... the one site we could get to (Miamisburg Mound) and then decided to go antiquing!

    Miamisburg was a high mound that had obviously been used and built up many times. Another set of steps to the top that we did not take...informational board stated that the mound was cleared of brush each year during the spring, but it seems that funding might be running low for parks since the mound had not been cleared...

    ... worth the visit! So many types of relics I have never seen with other Indian tribes. Gorgets, celts, copper cutouts, decorative stone tablets and animal effigy pipes. Noticed a sign about the display case of pipes that talked about the fact that the Native Americans would be looking directly into the face of the animal while smoking the pipe.
