I started this journey from home at 10:15 am, being picked up by the Act II shuttle. After picking up another traveler, we headed for O'Hare airport, arriving about 2:30 pm. That trip and check-in were uneventful. Since my flight wasn't scheduled to leave until 6:20, I walked the concourses for a while, had a snack, then ...

    ... the years.

We've turned back across the Mississippi to Hampton, Illinois to spend the night at a delightful county-supported recreational facility. With our senior discount, we paid $16 for the pleasure of watching the river flow by our front door. The 'water is wide, I cannot cross over'...but we will take a bridge over the muddy waters tomorrow for our first stop at the Herbert Hoover presidential library.

Got up this morning ready for our next leg of the journey. We should end up somewhere near ...

... at our destination for the night, we pulled into a nice little town called Lapeer where everyone was extremely friendly. Krista had the best day of her life when she was checking out of Kroger’s with some groceries and wine, she was asked to show her ID! The woman at the cash said “it was just that she looked so young”. Oh, groceries, a six pack tall cans and two bottles of wine (a stock up stop:)) was only $25! God Bless America!

    ... play the slots!

John Deere World Headquarters is in Moline, IL so of course we went to Moline for a visit to the John Deere Pavilion. We got to see quite a lot of LARGE John Deere tractors and farming equipment. Jim was in John Deere heaven! We got to see past, present and future John Deere exhibits. A lot of the exhibits were hands on, mainly for children to learn about farming, excavating, construction and forestry but Jim had to try ...
