Residence Inn By Marriott Coconut Grove

... on the not so nice part of town. I think that KOA's are more classy than that Days Inn. They did however have a pool and we we're all pretty excited about that. Something to cool us off after that long day of driving.

Cruised into Ft Lauderdale early Sat morning. From here we transfered to the airport for our flight back home to San Francisco. We got to the Airport around 10 am and our flight didn't leave till 4 pm. Arrived to San Fanncisco around 9 pm. Loong day but happy to be home.

Or was it??

Snitch flew down & met me at our hotel, which is where we have stayed for 3 days.... the decisions we had to make:

When to go down to the pool
Which bed to sleep on
When to turn over
When to go for a swim
When to have a cocktail...

It has taken some serious thought!! Just in case you can't picture it I've added some of my own!

We were a bit disappointed with the Sofitel. It was basically a typical airport hotel, which did nothing to calm my nerves about flying. Our room overlooked the runway and there were low planes going over the whole time. We felt a bit claustrophobic as we were in the middle of nowhere and couldn't really walk to any shops or amenities.

... cool thing we bought was a water filter, similar to one my sister has that she called a billabong! It holds about 8 litres, you fill it from the top and it drips through a charcoal and porcelain filter and the fact that the water holder is ceramic means the water seems to keep relatively cool! A brief 6 hour stop over saw our luggage checked all the way through to Brisbane and us out the door to Bayside, downtown Miami for a few hours of fresh air and some lunch. A very clean city that reminds me a bit of Sydney with so much water. Wow! Time go fast. Its is almost time for departure. I am getting ready, but with this new airport rules things goes in and out of my suitcase and back. I think I am so exited by now that it will be a little difficult to sleep tonight. I have to do an early rise tomorrow to be at the airport by 7:00AM.
