On the way home we swung by O'Hare airport to pick up a hire car for our road trip to Cincinnati. We have never been there before so we were looking forward to doing another road trip with Jeff and Jenni as they have planned a baseball game for us to go to. It was a late arrival home, sometime after midnight, and we had to get up at 4:30am to get to the game in time.

So, next up. The ROAD Trip.

... end and the 4 of us are now en route with Amtrack to Chicago for 3 days. The train, although not designated 1st class, appears to be so, with huge comfortable seats and leg room so great one can barely reach the footrest or the tray table!Behind me sits an I talk an woman so periodically I have the pleasure of hearing the language again and understanding it. When we went to get a coffee the little Chicano guy serving, all smiles and genuine Latino charm, refers to ...

    The Bean

A famous and favorite tourist attraction in Chicago is reflecting sculpture in ‘Millennium Park’ and today, after getting up and hour too early because my clock is still on Toronto time, I head out to finally get a glimpse of that so-called ‘Bean’. In the morning hours it is not yet crowded and I don’t have to fight for a spot to take a picture (like at the White House). That sculpture is quite awesome because you ...
