Having arrived in the centre of Calgary late the night before, we were able to have a well -earned lie-in! A rare treat during such a trip! After checking out of the hotel, we went straight into the city centre in search of breakfast and found it at the Barley Mill pub! Delicious! From there we set off to explore, first of all walking through the park along the Bow River. The atmosphere was very relaxed and ...

This is the largest combined glacier (345 square miles) in North America, and consists of 6 separate glaciers. We bought a tour from Glacier Explorer, and it was great. We got on a regular tour bus to cross the highway and go up to a parking lot close to ...

... make last minute corrections!

We were eventually set on the Trans Canada Highway enroute to Banff! After a little while, we were in some pretty spectacular country! Stopped along the way at

a pull out to have a sandwich. While beautiful, the winds today were some of the strongest we have experienced. Really scarry actually…..A 32 ft, high profile, vehicle traveling at 60 mph, can be a pretty scarry thing when a gust of wind hits it !
