Hello and greetings form the town of Canmore a little town about 25kms from Banff. We decided that we had done most of the touristy things possible in Banff that another drive was the go. Canmore is the quiet sister to Banff a little more laid back and not nearly as busy. We walked the streets which didn't take long but there was still the backdrop of the mountains that people come here to see and ski in the winter season.

We pass Cathedral Peak to our next
stop at Takakkaw Falls which mean
Magnificent in Cree and they truly are!
At 1260ft they are the 2nd highest falls
in Canada.

As we came upon the lake, we discovered, quite surprisingly, the enormous and fancy Fairmont Chateau at the lake's edge. So Tunnel Mountain it was. Listed as 2 hours return, and 'moderate'. What a waste of our carb loading! Walked from the centre of town, up the roads to the car park where the oldies drive to, then we started up the trail.
