Our first stop was Boulder, Co. where we spent a couple days visiting family friends. We even got out on Boulder Reservoir and tried some water skiing and wake boarding! It was a great couple days!

... still don't feel up to the kind of travel I was doing - constant unknowns, unfamiliar places, etc. - but I knew I couldn't stay in Boulder despite enjoying being close to my kids and friends. The sad truth is that I can't stand the cold! When I tell people that they say things like oh yes, but with the proper clothing,,,etc. Yes, I know how to dress in the cold. I have camped in temperatures down to 13F, I know ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States margreet98Whoops I did it again! I missed a day, and it was a good one!

Since we were still in our travel holding pattern in Boulder, Day 6 was all about exploring the city. The pedestrian mall was located ridiculously close to the hotel on a parallel street. It was almost like I could hear the call of the shops urging me on. I had a mission on Day 6 and it included exploring in the form of some hard core shopping. Within 10 minutes of ...

Denver, Colorado, United States aggiekatie... to visit Drew for the night. However, we got word that a storm front was moving over Salt Lake where we're set to head after Steamboat. Some brilliant friends, knowledgeable of mountain driving between Boulder and Salt Lake, suggested we camp out in Boulder instead of risk getting stuck somewhere along the route if the road was shut down. So far I have absolutely no complaints about our new plan!! Day 5 I did some minor exploring of Boulder and watched some netflix ...

The opera was Tales of Hoffman (I'd never heard of it) and the production was quite enjoyable. The costumes were fabulous! This photo appeared in a review in the Denver Post and described Olympia's robot costume as weighing 75 pounds! Her performance was incredible.

This picture explains why I'm heading south!

Boulder, Colorado, United States margreet98The other day I was half listening to the radio and heard a story about how the name your parents give you is as important to your development as the DNA we get from them. So it's all your parents fault if they name you Hester or Archibald. Last night I came across a book describing the hidden meanings behind your name and of course I couldn't resist looking up my name - Margaritha. What I read made me laugh out loud and ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States margreet98... got a few boxes for myself to try. I think I like their packaging more than the taste!

Then we were onto lunch, we went to what I guess you could called downtown Boulder to meet my Dad's old friend from high school, Tom. We ate at this place called Med, its a Mediterranean restaurant and it was very tasty. We stayed there for quite sometime, mostly Dad and Tom catching up with each other. It had been over 30 years since they last saw ...

Boulder, Colorado, United States jtopping... of research and long-term commitment and studies and "Oh my god and I'm 30 and all I've got is this lousy PhD," I think it's time to get a little dose of the rest of the world. Unlike many friends of mine aiming for graduate physics work, I am deeply attached to the world around me and passionate about the way people live on this planet of ours. That's why before I dive down that long, long, deep, dark rabbit hole of PhD science I want to gain some perspective ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States leinadw... the hotels, restaurants and bars were closed. That's a lot of money spent on plans and not used. My first attempt to pack did not go well, I need to scale down the clothing a lot. Leaving the house at 4 pm to fly to LA and then onto Sydney. I have a cold that I am not very happy about. Not looking forward to 18 hours in a plane while not feeling well.
