... me! I'm pretty excited about this trip, and have been wanting to go see my kids for quite some time, so this is an event worth waiting for.
I'll be updating my travel log here, and you can read where I'm at, where I've been and what i've been up to.
Here's to a wonderful adventure!
... 3 nights) with a tiny little balcony, drink and food stains were around the walls, no iron and ironing board like there use to be, enough coffee, sugar, and creamer for only one person each night. Most of all unable to sleep due to the rude people over and around us that walked heavily on the floors until 1:00 a.m. (even during the week nights) left ...
Meridian, Idaho, United States smilnlady... surprise Jenna. And that is exactly what I did. We had it all set up to arrive in Boise at 4:30. Mark told Jenna to stay around the house since he was expecting a package from UPS to arrive. But we didn’t anticipate driving through a new time zone, so we actually arrived around 5:30. Mark was already home and we knocked on the door Mark let us in and showed me to the bathroom where she was doing her hair. I walked behind her and said ...
Boise, Idaho, United States flyingfonteins... br>Southwestern Washington, and the northwestern part of Oregon we went through and a small portion of Idaho had the large windturbins. We have seen the blades on semi's and they are longer than the trailer bed.
And of course what can I say about the mountains (especially for someone who has lived in Florida most of their lives) but awesome. Terry and I have decided there must not be many lawyers here since most of the roads ...
... Charbonneau and Sacagewea. I stood and looked out over the immense landscape at a lone, large tree, the tallest thing around, that appeared to reach up through banks of low clouds. I felt very peaceful breathing in the smell of the valley. I realized what a great idea it was to stick to about 300 miles a day. I love it. We did finally get to Boise.
Our friends the Blickenstaffs took us to the airport (thanks guys) made it out of Boise alive, don’t know yet what we forgot. Flight on United to Chicago was average. HOWEVER. Flight on Lufrtansa Air to Frankfurt was like going back to old-style commercial flight with current technology. First glimpse of all that orderliness and practicality. Actual dinner ...
Boise, Idaho, United States mcfarlanes... to download all these pictures into.
But we all still have lots to do. Leslie and Paul need International Driving Permits. The family needs a "Camping Carnet" to stay at the European campgrounds. We need a housesitter/dogsitter. Meg and Bobby both need cameras (digital, less than $100). We all need some travel clothes -- quick dry, etc.
So much to do, so little time!
... you their specific site address after six weeks of training. Volunteers often enjoy telling their "war" stories when they write home. Letters might describe recent illnesses, lack of good food, isolation, etc. While the subject matter is good reading material, it is often misinterpreted on the home front. Further, given the lag time in communication by the time you receive ...
Boise, Idaho, United States viajeradelmundo... which took us to "Craters of the Moon, National Monument". It is a huge lava flow with giant cinder cones, craters and hostile landscape. It is actually a rift in the earth's surface. The last eruption was as early as 2000 years ago and it will erupt again. We will explore Hell's Canyon tomorrow and continue northwest. Love to all Dirinda, Shawn, Jan
