      Oops! Wrong Vulcan!

Tomorrow we arrive in Atlanta (Lord willing!), so today we had a leisurely morning and didn't leave Jackson, MS, until after 11am. We drove to Birmingham, checked into our hotel (very nice - more frequent hotel points from Dan's Lockheed days), then drove up to Vulcan Park. It was very interesting; I'd never heard of …

The only thing we hadn't settled on was a walking tour of Charleston. We like to do city tours on the front end of our visit to get the lay of the land and information on certain sites in case we want to revisit. The tour guides ...

fair amount of European paintings from the Renaissance through Impressionism
and an impressive collection of European porcelain. The American collection is
very good with many paintings by well-known artists and a significant amount of
regional Alabama art. The Birmingham Museum of Art is what I’d expect ...

      Heading for AL

Wow..cold this morning. Electric furnace stopped working over nite. Have to figure out why. Turned on the gas furnace and it worked fine. First time hooking up the tow in the morning. Maybe we'll do it the night before next time! Heading for south of Birmingham. A little longer drive today. Stayed at a municipal RV park. Hoover. Parking lot with full hookups. New and clean. Took a walk, grilled our WI brats. Still chilly at night. Good ...
