It was a single chair with a bar you pulled across yourself once you had been nudged into the chair as it came around the cable. The next person would then get onto a chair 10 metres behind you. After waiting in line for about hour we found out that the time and number for this train had changed. I guess they don’t send email updates in the case of changes. The time was only 6 minutes later than we anticipated so all was still well.

    Saturday 14th December

The goal as we woke today was to find somewhere in Sorrento to go swimming. The kids, well Lachy, had expressed a desire to swim in the Mediterranean before we went home and wished he had the chance while we were in the Cinque Terre. Ro had looked up a place that seemed possible and once we'd packed, we drove away in search of a swim. The task quickly became a little overwhelming as were faced with markets, ...

... at the village of Almafi itself for lunch (well ice cream !!) and then continuing along the Amalfi drive towards Positano. The drive was spectacular with hairpin bends, views along the coast to die for, sheer drops - I was just glad with thee small roads it was not the height of summer !! Every car that came the other way was a squeeze (panic attack at the lorries and minibuses !)
