... Nonnenweir and headed for Illhausern and Riquewhir, two wonderful Alsacian old towns along the famous "Route des Vins d'Alsace" Even though the auberge were we wanted to have lunch was closed for their holiday, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at an adjacent restaurant.

Riquewhir only 13 km down the way was the icing on the cake. It reinforced in our minds once again that is every ...

... we managed to find a comfortable downtown hotel (don't remember it). We stepped out for some food, I had goulash soup and MJ had flammenkucheen. We shared a nice big salad. Tomorrow when we can see what is what we will do some exploring and capture the sights. We will of course report on the old stomping grounds!!!!

We didnt find the rhine, but ended up staying on the banks of a kittle canal which was super pretty and a fair distance from any dodgy dog walkers!
dinner, consisting of more garlic tha pasta, followed by wine and bed was pretty much exactly what the doctor ...

... could only see it from the outside,
and it was under pretty major construction. I'm sure it's very
impressive, but our timing was just a bit off. The rest of Freiburg was
pretty built up and commercialized, mostly due to it being a college
town I'm sure. It wasn't one of my favorite places in Germany thus far,
but like all German towns, it did have some cool architecture. One
hallmark of the Schwarzwald region is the natural springs. ...
