... to check the machine ( the automatic machine queues are marginally shorter than the counter queues)... they take card and entrance is only 400 roubles each (about £8, very reasonable). After an hour we reach the machine fighting the queue jumpers. Unfortunately the machine doesn't take card but only takes cash and we have 650 roubles, not enough, we leave the queue in disbelief, the only thing to do is laugh!!!

For lunch, we ducked into Olli's Pizza on a whim, eating three pizzas, including a dessert pizza that had apple slices, cinnamon, and honey. All of the pizza was fantastic.

... philharmonic and ballet performances every night of the week in St. Petersburg. Most are in large performance halls. The Hermitage Theater is located
