... to the KZN coast. After one or two hairy, scary wrong turns, we found the ferry in San Giovanni and made the 20 minute crossing to Messina in Sicily - very exciting to start the Sicily portion of our trip, if a little apprehensive, as I never know whether the places we book online will be habitable and remotely resemble their descriptions..... will report back soon..... ... some places weren't open on Tuesday afternoon and it reminded us of Filomena saying never travel on a Tuesday. The restaurant Moulin Rouge wasn't open so we went to Le Bottiga de Sapori. ... ready for a late night as the game started at 12. I slept and Don stayed up till 3am. He was reluctant to get moving in the morning. After a brekkie of fruit, chocolate croissant and cake we were on the road. To get out of Isola was a logistically nightmare! The GP s was correct but that road was cut off due to construction so we did 35 min circuit of town till we finally found our way. Our backs were sore as the beds in southern Italy tend to be very hard so we weren't in the ...

... time for the trip that seems too long for the distance, believe google as you have to traverse through small towns and therefore go an average of 70kms an hour. The autostrade was marvellous except when we reached our first toll. We pulled over and got out so we could ask for help but no one was in sight so we observed the other travellers. You have to go through and collect a ticket. The trick is to get as close to the machine and that isn't easy in a ...
