... to the KZN coast. After one or two hairy, scary wrong turns, we found the ferry in San Giovanni and made the 20 minute crossing to Messina in Sicily - very exciting to start the Sicily portion of our trip, if a little apprehensive, as I never know whether the places we book online will be habitable and remotely resemble their descriptions..... will report back soon..... Will also upload pics when I find free ...

    Mammola day 2

A travel blog entry by sueesposito on Jun 17, 2014

We had a better sleep last night and we were greeted by chocolate cake and fruit tart. Don wrapped some quickly in serviettes to have for later. Our day trip to the beach of Marina di Giosiva Ionoca begins. We dropped into a large shopping centre first and found a Maccas. I had some fruit salad and Don a coffee. The girl who served us had parents living in Adelaide. We then went to the beach area which had the umbrellas etc and a grey type ...

We then drove in the direction of Giosica Ionica and had a cornetto at a local shop. As we ...

... to get directions from some workers who wanted Dons phone number so they could get a job in Australia. We got to the area of Le Canella but there were no sign posts to our accommodation. I rang the people who said they would come and get us. We ended up talking to a grandmother- "Gentle Angela" and her daughter and husband who we parked outside their summer house. They couldn't believe it was taking so long to find us and so I rang again and the mother told him the address. After ...

    Ostuni

A travel blog entry by sueesposito on Jun 16, 2014

... dinner in Ostuni. 6 of us went by shuttle bus back into town. How different it was where we stopped. There was a busy Piazza in the old part of town. Cato dropped us off and with no directions we tried to find the restaurant. There was a stage set up with music playing as the new Mayor was going to address the crowd. Children were up late, youngies were at the bars drinking, and dogs wandered from restaurant to restaurant. The next day we got the shuttle bus ...
