... the last island i visit. Its only a 10 minute ferry ride. The moment you step off the ferry all you smell is sulphur gas. My visit to Vulcano island is to climb to the top of the volcano. Takes just under an hour, and it is tough going in parts. The views are worth the pain and sweat. The little village is pretty cool, and has a very relaxed atmosphere. By the end of the day you dont notice the sulphur gas smell any more.

It's a very small place so everything shuts down fairly early at end of season. We were at the hotel tseosorios for 3 days. It seed to get hotter and hotter. I reckon it's about 37 degrees today. We have two ...

Have been exploring this little island on foot. From where we are staying in San pietro it's a 30 minute walk to the beach for a swim. We discovered the prehistoric village perched up on a small isthmus, dating from prehistoric times. 14th century bc. From this position they could see everything that was coming to get them! 22 round stone hits were uncovered in 1949. ...

... it is a novelty. There are little fish visible in the shallows as I paddle about. On the sea front there are a few houses and fishing boats. Lots of nets similar to cray nets are everywhere. The taxi driver told us tat on this side of the island they cultivate olives and on the other side, where we came from this morning, it's all grapes for the sweet Malvasia ...
