Gien to Camping Val d' Authie

... has a lovely church and selection of very nice houses, but not much else. We opted to eat at the on site restaurant which was very good food even if it didn't look, particularly smart. The Lleft Red Ruby beer was very good - even to Doombar & Atlantic fans! The temperature is now quite pleasant for sitting outside at 9.30 with the sun just disappearing. I may have to find a jumper for tomorrow's trip home. Can it really be so different it's just a short hop across the channel to ...

... towing a mini-moke and six other mini-mokes arrived and set up an encampment opposite us. Hope they arn't as noisy as the yobs with the E-type jaguar last night at St Satur. It seemed warmer tonight but if the cloud clears it could get cold again. We were rained upon several times today - once very hard, in spite of a dry forecast. Some more sunshine would really cheer us up. Val has floated to idea of tking the train frm Orleans to Nantes and cycling back to avoid the head winds.

In Montargis we will spend one night before picking up our campervan, or camping car as the French call it, to ...

... I just take my boulder mat and i think I'm going to try to hitch hike tomorrow and the next day. Having a bike delays my climbing. See i cant even talk about the tourism stuff anymore. I think i have had my fill of any tourism for at least a decent few years. I greatly enjoy staying in one place and having a general thing ( like climbing) to keep me there. Its a real quality way to live.

This family is fantastic to me. They are so welcoming. ...

... going to make and had assumed all along (for a year of travel) that if I missed one flight it would be lost but the remainder of the flights would stay intact?!?

When I get home I'm going to confirm this with United because if what I was told is true that is the most ridiculous of terms and I would not recommend such a ticket! Luckily, after calling back 3 times, I got a woman who cancelled the flight for the next day and ...
