... We found an Art Gallery near the Academia bridge and took some pictures of the stunning architecture of this building. There was a trellis which was lit with multicoloured lights so had to take pics there too. Once we were off the super crowded tourist areas, it was lovely just wandering. ... of those restaurants Louisa pointed out. A wrong vaparetto and a few wrong turns, we finally made it – but about 40 minutes before they opened. ... is super expensive! One cafe in St Marks Square asked for a €6 contribution to the music, on top of a service charge and tax... I ate elsewhere! But even the water buses are pricey, I've spent €28 on two return trips to the island and a gondola would have set me back 100!
