... and sparkling lights went off--Karen got a good video of it. We walked back in the general direction of our hotel, and found ourselves across the street from our breakfast cafe! How we laughed, because we had walked blocks and blocks, and this place is like a half a block from our hotel! But getting lost--or misplaced, anyway--is a great way to get a better sense of the lay of the land! Tonight we are setting no alarms--tomorrow is Sunday, and we will make it up as we go! ...

The bell ringing starts half an hour later in Avignon than in Aix-en-Provence. Then you start to hear the opening of window shutters as they are unlatched and concertinered (is this a word?) back into the casings. Within the walls of Avignon there are 8 churches and here goes the third one playing quite a nice tune which I don't recognise. Clearly the bell ringers are not on digital time if you had to catch a train you could not rely on the church bells. We had a few hours ...

The lady we approached was quite rude and used a few choice French words that I won’t repeat, but we were later informed by students that she’s the mean lady and also hadn’t had a break since 9 AM (it was 2 PM), so it was somewhat understandable.

We biked around most of the rest of the day, going up in districts we ...

... evening with some delicious food, copious amounts of wine and a pleasant English couple beside us for good conversation. The cruise went down the Seine for an hour or so then turned around and came back to the miniature Statue of Liberty, turned around that and back to the Tower by 11.00. There were a couple of singers on board, singing some easy listening sons (Beyond the Sea, for Allison and Leigh), and they timed their songs for the ...

... I could get closer to the front (not really elbowing). I wanted to hang around for the fireworks show that they have just before the park closes but it wasn't going to be until 11pm! I couldn't believe the park would be open that late!! I also decided I would quite happily work at Disneyland as well. Though Sim isn't to keen on living in France lol. It was a lot of fun running around being big kids for a day though when we went on the it's a small world ride we decided we looked ...
