Still cool, but with sunny intervals. Decided to stay an
extra night here, to explore the local area.
Spent the morning housekeeping. Afternoon ride into
nearby, lakeside town of Gérardmer. Very pleasant forested, countryside around
here, with pretty chalet type houses. Lots of walks and cycle rides, with
skiing in the winter ...
We left our luxurious campsite reluctantly and are now back in France where our adventure began. The drive was long, but interesting. We passed by Lake Constance which looked very nice as a place to visit. The Zepplin was invented there and there are museums and airship rides! We saw two airships over the lake. Our route took us around the Swiss boarder, so close we almost entered once or twice! (It costs so we were avoiding it) Mrs Sat ...
... for us, and also missing a turning so ended up at a dead end, yup I had to reverse into a car park and go out through the exit. After about half an hour of traversing the town we finally ended up back at our campsite!! to try a different route, miss snooper took us/me through some gorgeous little villages and re country roads I might add at this point I wanted to get out and stamp my feet!!!! ... Luke Kate and the kids headed more north, heading towards the ferry back to the UK. We checked in to a caravan park and plugged ourselves back in, showered, and made very good use of the washing machine and dryer. It was Bastille day so that evening we followed the crowds into town and stood around the lake waiting for the fireworks.
