    war graves and memorials. Cover some of the Tour De France Route
    - traditionally on two wheels albeit motorised. Visit into Munster
    town and can see the stork nests all around and then we go back over
    La Route Des Cretes for an ealy evening ride - not many roads we have not touched here now.

    Across the border into France and we are soon at our home for the next two days, not a word of English spoken by our hosts but we have the whole of the attic for our stay, evening meal out and an early night.

    Monday 18 August

    A cool day with on and off drizzle. Time to move on from the Meuse and
    head towards the Vosges and the National Parks of Alsace Lorraine, north of
    Mulhouse. Thought about stopping in a campsite in the Lorraine National Park
    but decided to keep heading south, through Nancy and on to the Ballons des

    ... us to a trip on a ferry across the lake, which was a nice surprise! France is always good, feels close to home and we've missed their baking. We're at a small site run by 'Stan' just south of Nancy. It's all NL here (we have to call the that now as Gen only refers to people by the letters on their car) only one or two D's and no GB's (that's what Gen seeks out!) We've had the odd letter that we have to look up - there is S, DK, B, BL, ...

    ... were all absolutely drenched but we didn't care. We purposefully chose a stage that required us to see a start and a finish, so the following day we got up early once again and headed into town for some more Tour De France festivities. The town was a buzz with people everywhere. Car parks were turned into VIP areas and roads were sectioned off. It's unbelievable to see how the Tour De France all comes together. When you watch it on TV all you watch is the coverage ...
