The flight back to Gatwick was fine. It was good to be reunited with the tandem even though our expensive S&S cases had been scuffed up a bit. I think we were so late off the plane that they'd been on the carousel for a while.

It was an epic trip, and probably a tougher physical challenge than we'd anticipated. Stunning scenery, extremes of weather, 693 km and 15,481 m of climbing. Maybe we'll tackle the Netherlands next year...

... we agreed that in high season when the properties are occupied, as well as the boats then it would look rather lovely, so after a brief walk around it was back to the van. 24th May. Left Port Grimaud and are now making our way towards Antibes, another port town between Cannes and Nice and whilst enroute we were treated to a lovey site of the Alps covered in snow. Once set up we caught a bus into town and had a walk around the old town, we have one eye on the ...

... He took our orders, entertained us with stories of his family and cooked our meals. Absolutely brilliant. After lunch we head back down the hill and had to reverse back up two or three times to let other vehicles past. Needless to say Mum was not looking and not that happy. Getting to the bottom of the hill we decided to visit the Villa de Rothchild. I don't know what mum did to Nancy but she directed us to what can only be called a goat track with asphalt. Once ...
