... Then it was back to the churches, though some were closing for the afternoon by now, and a walk down the road to see the fountain Michael had discovered on his walkabout on the first evening. At night this is lit by colours, but it still looks good in sunlight. By now most places were closing (they do the afternoon siesta well in Italy!) so we decided on a long lunch ourselves. If one sits or stands in a specific place anywhere in the city, one can photograph a dog every 5 seconds!!! Tried and timed!
In a cafe they are lunching.... They help go shopping for make-up.... They go clothes shopping in Zara.... ...
... to the ticket office where Michael ordered 2 tickets... to be told today it was free as it is the 1st Sunday of the month! Bonus!!
We entered what must be the most extraordinary entrance to any art gallery in the world....a theatre - to be precise the Farnese Theatre. Michael did his usual exploring walkabout, and found a strange thing: Parma closes on Sunday!
Seriously, hardly anywhere was open apart from the galleries and museums - even some churches were closed. On Sunday?? Parma is an odd town, as it is difficult to describe it shortly.
