Crossing boarders from France to Spain

We left behind us the South of France, where we had a nice camping spot with the surf break just down the hill. We met a young couple from Holland and Denmark where we socialised with and dusted off some boardgames we took with us.
The spot was a beautiful area. Surround by great scenery views from the top of the cliffs over the ocean and around, sun mostly out and when the waves were flat spearfishing was the activity Sahid kept himself busy with, while i kept it ...

    And now, we Basque . . .

After a nice hotel breakfast, we travelled by bus to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (yes, that is the name of a city - complete with a mouthful of hyphens) to experience a farmers market, a small taste of the "Camino de Santiago" trek and a nice Basque lunch from the Navarro region. Soft rain as we finished dinner. Hope for a quiet night. Tomorrow I ...

On our last night we both had trouble sleeping, and in the early morning darkness we started talking about what we loved the most about Paris. What we'll remember is:

The monuments and architecture, the history and beauty on every corner.
The apartments, boulevard after boulevard of stately buildings with their wrought iron balconies, every one a different pattern, their chimney pots and flower baskets.
The people, their innate style and ...

... is until they came upon an agreement and we were off. What a cool place it was in a old old flour mill - an experience within itself just going there, Basque Cake, biscuits, bread we head home. The Basque cake was fantastic, so what is this? Gateau Basque is constructed from layers of an almond four based cake with a filling of either pastry cream with rum or preserved cherries, we had both to sample and for me it was the yellow ...
