... yappy dogs. The stay has not begun favourably. We also learn that the concierge has a particular dislike of labradors. Previous French municipal campsites have been very helpful, this is an exception.

... Palace, this guard would have a particular march back and forth  in front of the main entrance. He was holding a massive shotgun with a knife at the end, seemed a bit extreme for Monaco. At the top of the hill where the Palace was located had some great views of the harbor and the mountains. This country was very beautiful. ... small town in the far distance along the coastal line. Followed by driving into tunnels dugged through mountainous areas. Caution! Do avoid peak hours when driving between towns to avoid being stuck in heavy traffic during weekdays.

We arrived at La Spezia late morning and headed directly to Portovenere after checking into our hotel, L'Ombrosa Locanda.
