... grapes are found in the town markets. Come to think of it, the town-square market in Bayonne reminds me of Oxbow Market in Napa. The Camino de Santiago (or known simply as the "Camino") began as a religious pilgrimage to visit the bones of the patron Saint James at the cathedral at Santiago de Campostela along the coast of Spain. The faithful would make a pilgrimage at least once in their lives to visit the relics by following this ...

A long but interesting travel day. Took a long time to get out of Bilbao- it has Spain's longest tunnel, especially if you travel it twice! ... the heart of French Basque Country. The Basque influence, language and culture spans the region over both France and Spain. Bayonne has served as a fortress for various cultures over the millennia and has various fort and wall fragments left over from Roman, French and English occupations all through the old part of town. We met our tour group (only ...

... but I was ready to go. Made some nice friends, ate pintxos drank cheap but nice red wine. It rained constantly in the last two days. The last night we went on a mini pintxos/pub crawl.... We needed a paddle or flippers to get home, it was strong winds and pouring, lol.... on a normal day, at home, it would bother me, but we were drenched, sober - yes sober, because we really just talked all night. Posting photos again, I'm some maybe doubles of San Sebastián, ...
