... Can't see much from this hotel, but tomorrow we shall Romeo and Juliet to our hearts content.

Epilogue: Connor was just watching tv and there on the screen, coming to us live from Milan, is a huge open air rock concert. Right in front of the Duomo. That explains all the sound equipment we saw in the cathedral today - we had just through they got big crowds there for mass. Lucky we didn't get caught in that - methinks the Aunties would not have been impressed

... in the town square, on the sides of roads and under hotels. All very charming.
After a morning coffee, we headed back to the hotel for lunch and a siesta. Later that afternoon we went for a walk about the streets near our hotel, and then ate a good Italian meal at a local restaurant. Finished the day with a gelato sitting by the lake, watching the boats bobbing about in the marina. A truly lovely day.

Off to Milan tomorrow and then Verona. Liking Italy more and ...

... enquire about property rental and purchase. While purchase probably isn't on the cards anytime soon, the rental looks very doable, and to quote the Austrian guy "I'll be back."




Tomorrow morning I leave for Marseille, depending on the weather I will keep going as close to St Nazaire as I can. All of a sudden, the end of the trip is later this week.....

... train, very close relationships for a period of time! Como is Another place founded by the Celts in the Bronze Age, since then has been Roman, Austrian, Italian, ruled by Napoleon and since 2010 the Swiss have got a Takeover bid in for it, (it does border Switzerland) how does that work? A bit like Scotland and they get to vote? I can't work that out. Tourist place obviously but also major centre for silk which at one stage was Italy's biggest export, now who knew that. They get ...
