Come to Como

We arrived in Como after a long drive from Bassano via Verona and the Hertz office to replace, yet again, the GPS. The Neverlost might be the case on the odd occasion that it works, but without it getting lost is actually quite simple. We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. If the result has escaped your attention, Bayern Munich won by 7-1, a record away win for them, so by the end of the game, the atmosphere was somewhat subdued. Ignoring the result, Ali was only an interested neutral after all, he enjoyed the occasion. Impressive stadium, fantastic atmosphere, ...

... and we managed to avoid a lengthy traffic jam on the motorway. The drive down to Como was very steep, with just the occasional glance of Lake Como far below and the attractively wooded hills on the other side. Our trusty satnav delivered us faithfully to our destination, a B and B set inside a converted seventeenth century monastery. There seemed to be no sign of such a thing. Just as we were starting to puzzle over what to do next, a friendly and dapper gentleman approached us ...
