    Waking to a hazy horizon the day looks promising and indeed was a pleasant day. lots of sunshine but with the threat of thunderous rain at any minute. We walked up the hill to the town for a nose around.     ... the boys played table football while I retreated for a warm bath and a good book.....only to return for a dip in the pool a couple of hours later......sun streaming through the trees. Julian not only then painted my toenails but also cooked dinner....bliss. Prosecco and silence later, a lovely end to the day........beach weather tomorrow ...

    ... caught the end of a mass being given in front of St Frances' tomb itself, which didn't last so long that the kids got too bored. But it was long enough to confirm our view of the general public, some of whom despite being asked not to take photographs at all, behaved like paparazzi at a Royal engagement.
