We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. ... when we told them we worked in a pizza shop, they thought we made proper Italian pizzas I think. We tried to explain what fast food is but they don't really have it here so it was hard. They just kept saying 'oh! pizza ohno' and making spinning pizza gestures (I think it means pizza chef). I found a small roadside café on a hill overlooking the lake. The expresso was good! I sat there for a while soaking up the sun, but I knew I had a lot of driving to do if I was going to make it to Pisa before dark. Still without a GPS but I had written names of cities and road numbers on a piece of paper as a reference.
