... spot on one of the side streets - not surprisingly, on a little canal! The main streets of town were so crowded - that we realized we had to get off the beaten track. We ordered pastas and wine and water and bread with olive oil. We stayed there for a couple of hours and just reveled in happiness - we were finally in Venice - finally beginning this trip we have been dreaming about - finally together with our wonderful traveling friends! ...
