      The Beauty of Pag

A travel blog entry by emmaevans on Oct 25, 2014

The island of Pag is one of the more unusual islands on the Croatian coast, being very dry and mainly barren, but providing a very vibrant atmosphere and some of the best beaches. The island itself is very narrow and long, and it is most famous for its Pag Cheese and delicious lamb, which is naturally flavoured with the salty grass the sheep feed on.

      Day 1 - getting acclimtised

... living! After lunch it's back on the road and finally we are on the D8, the Croatian 'corniche' which snakes it's way south towards our eventual destination of Dubrovnik. Too far for today of course! We wend our way though a seemingly never-ending series of coastal towns - some bigger, some tiny, but all with their own marina and most with at least one of the dreaded Autokamps - a testament to just how many motorhomes use this route in high summer and another good reason for ...

I'm under instruction to get the dressing and bit of internal packing ...

A travel blog entry by deolali on Sep 12, 2014

I had a great day again but some in the group are getting a bit dejected. They admit they don't ride in the rain at home, so their waterproofs were untested prior to this trip and have shown to be inadequate. Some of them also don't like the pace and the overtaking manoeuvres undertaken by our guide, Tomaz, and one I know has had words with him on the subject. Compared with the previous tour the pace ...

      Krk

A fab sail up the 17 miles with the wind just dieing as we pulled into Punat to have a look around before going of to Krk main town for the evening. A great safe bay with monastry and marina , worth noting for return trip! On arrival in Krk we drop anchor outside to test if safe but end up picking it up and heading onto town quay as think we may go out and have few beers whilst inspecting the old town. Another lovely old town and good ...
