As we drove closer to San Marino, we all started saying, "Did she REALLY say "the NATION" of San Marino?? And that's exactly what it was: It's full title is "The Republic of San Marino". John will do doubt tell you of its history. It's set high on a mountain, with the most glorious view and was yet another treasure chest waiting to be opened for us! It was our nicest hotel by far - VERY upmarket! - and it was exciting to follow the ...
... as each seat filled the novelty soon wore off. It became cramped and uncomfortable... both physically and socially. As soon as we got to Austria however, the stunning views of the huge, steaming mountain forests, and ice blue rivers took our minds off the traveling conditions. On several occasions we couldn't help but gasp and 'wow' at the surroundings (which I felt quite guilty for doing because there was a blind woman in our carriage).
Nevertheless, it is an understatement to ...
... the world) it was one of the more enjoyable and relaxing days we have had. Also pretty funny was when we went grocery shopping they actually had their own vats of wine in the store but funnier than that was when Jen got caught by the armed security gaurd taking a photo and he started ranting in Italian at her. Not much else to say just a real different kind of beach town that has a historic center. Very relaxing and fun. Now it is off to Verona the next morning...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy moore_mattjNo program for the afternoon so we planned our escape to the beach by the pool. Whilst it is difficult to leave the pool adventure is a foot. Cagli was an option but the beach had the greater pull. about a 45 minute drive to Fano. Denis Hieke Mandy & I set off after lunch but the clouds were set to close in on us as we headed towards the coast.
Fano is a topical Italian beach resort town. I have never seen so many beach umbrellas and ...
We left for Urbino after breakfast for a quick trip (Birth place of Raffaello - painter) of course coffee & gelati was part of our plans with some sights thrown in.
Nice place and worth the trip. No time to view the museo a bit of a shame as there is a section with Rafael.
We had some great views going over the mountains going to/from Urbino. Mandy is handling driving the larger car just fine.
Ciao
... The best of all is a large pool to lazy around after Yoga and eating, what a life, the weather was fantastic during the week, high 20's
I think I did too much on the first day of yoga as I couldn't back up on the Tuesday (lucky to get out of bed) but once moving I did both afternoon sessions (playground) breathing in the afternoon and then meditation after dinner.
Wednesday afternoon is free time so we are planning on a trim to the coast Fano
Ciao
Tuesday 2nd June. We set off as the sun began to show through and leaving Mugello followed 5 massive trucks with the Moto Gp logo on them so they were off to the next racetrack site, like geeks we videoed this. We headed towards Tavulia and arrived at valentino Rossi's hometown md morning. The small town had 46 flags flying along the main road and we found the Rossi cafe where we had a coffee of which my cappuccino had 46 inscribed in the froth!!The cafe ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy kasnsqueak... Rimini and visible from the beach there. We couldn't discover what the name means, scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago. We took the early bus up from Rimini with a gaggle of young Russians from in town - very cultured of them - which landed us in the midst of the ancient citadel. It's a fantastically preserved old town that is very clean and quaint with spectacular views of the ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy jiewu... I make my move. Without sun this California beach playground quickly becomes an Oregon beach playground, sun burning off late in the day if at all. And hostels are pot luck by definition, so when the players for the Ultimate Frisbee Championship come to town everybody else has to move to a satellite location for the duration. It's not like there's any shortage of rooms. This town is nothing but rooms... and other ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy hardiek... lower levels. It was like a room in solitary confinement in a dark prison. Picture this: dim lights; a small, windowless room; movie theater-like seats; hundreds of Italians screaming to each other about saved seats for friends; no air circulation. We un-claimed our airseats and headed straight to the bar. Unfortunately, all the booths were taken by those who knew better, so we settled for a table with chairs until dinner was over. We contemplated shelling out the dough for a cabin ...
