We packed up early and headed off. Went through a lot of tunnels along the coast of Italy and then turned inland. The scenery changed dramatically to flat rural countryside. I had about 2 hours of long straight motorway with absolutely no traffic. Pure bliss !!! We then hit the Italian alps and there was more tunnels and windy roads.
